At the top of this Pep, I talk about becoming you. Not a new and improved you, just you. So throw away any of those old labels you may have acquired. It’s time for you to introduce yourself on your terms. You’re not a drinker; you’re not an ex-drinker. You are [name], and you don’t drink.

A step further

While you’re at it, why not make other changes to proudly mark your life as someone who doesn’t drink?

You could review your images and monikers on social networks and dating sites and upload photos and graphics representing who you are now.

Or take a look at the drinking merch around your home. You may have accumulated alcohol-related glassware, books, pictures, and even clothing. Would someone who doesn’t drink want these things?

And why not tell someone? You can do these Peps without talking to another human being. But confiding in a friend can be a powerful moment. Or, if you’re not ready yet, you could share with an online community.
