We usually gravitate to people who drink like us. Sometimes, we seek out those who drink a little bit more to vindicate our behaviour. Or, when we’re around those who drink less, we may hide the amount we drink or leave earlier to continue drinking at home.
Whatever it is, noticing who influences our behaviour can be helpful when trying to change. That doesn’t mean we blame anyone – we need to take responsibility for our actions and remember no one forces us.
